My Approach

Online Counselling

Online counselling uses technology to provide flexible access to the support you need.

Multiple studies have shown that online counselling is as effective and sometimes even more effective than in-person counselling.

(Candice Luo et al., 2020, A comparison of electronically-delivered and face to face cognitive behavioural therapies in depressive disorders: A systematic review and meta-analysis. EClinicalMedicine)

Online counselling saves time in travel, and provides a more flexible fit for busy lifestyles.

It allows you to find the right counsellor for you, without being limited by location.

I offer a choice of Zoom, Microsoft Teams or telephone sessions.  I am pleased to provide instructions and more information on how to install and use these for us to meet together.

Your privacy and confidentiality remain of the utmost importance, and all steps are taken to ensure a safe and secure service for you.

I am an accredited and registered counsellor with the ACC – Association of Christians in Counselling, and am qualified in CBT counselling and Children & Young People’s Counselling.  I offer an integrative counselling approach.

I have experience supervising counsellors working in private practice, in schools’ work, and in voluntary counselling agencies.

I am passionate about the value of individual supervision to provide counsellors a safe space for reflective practice, and to support you to develop according to your interests, strengths and goals.

Young People

I’m pleased to offer specialist counselling for young people aged 13years and above online, using Zoom or Teams.  I have dedicated training in counselling children and young people and experience supporting young people 4-19 years in schools, private practice and a community counselling service.

Confidentiality is important for young people to engage in counselling.  I will not be able to share with parents/carers details from young people’s counselling. However, please be assured, this does not extend to safeguarding concerns. I have a duty of care to do all I can to ensure young people are safe, and I will raise concerns and break confidentiality if anything gives me cause for concern for any young person’s safety and wellbeing.

Online counselling would not be an ideal service for young people and children under 13years old, and as a result these appointments are only available in-person and in some circumstances, it may be possible for me to offer local home visits, should you have a confidential, appropriate space your child can have a counselling appointment.

Please get in touch if this is something you would like to discuss further.
